I really love cyclops. I don't know why but I do. Maybe it's something to do with Greek Mythology fascinating me since I was a young child, I don't know, but I think they are cool. I've sculpted a couple of cyclops over the last couple of years. Here is the more recent one He's fairly musclebound and brutish looking. I originally was going to give him a giant bone to wield but ended up creating a branch for him as the bone would have been exceedingly big for him. I was experimenting more with facial expressions on this guy but feel I could have worked on his chin quite a bit more. All in all I was happy with the result. I created a mold for this guy and have made some resin casts of him. Both my son and older daughter loved painting them up. (Pictured next to a 28mm sculpt)
I also tried my hand at gravity fed pewter casting of this guy pulled apart so that I could use them as a base for sculpting a variety of different cylopses (I wanted to create a bit of a band of them) but as it is so large, and I've never had any practice with pewter casting it was a major fail and they came out extremely pitted. However I have used them as the basis for some crabmen I've started to sculpt. (Which I will post pics of in due course)
